New video footage of Champ, Lake Champlain’s lake monster, was allegedly taken approximately a week ago in the early morning hours with a cell phone. The video is two minutes long, and shows the silhouette of an object moving towards the eastern shore of the lake. Needless to say the video has created quite a buzz among the monster enthusiast community, with many proclaiming the video to be the best evidence for the creature since 1977. While Champ supporters are adamant that the video is the real deal, skeptics have postured theories ranging from the video being a total hoax, to a scam, to a swimming animal. In fact, some video analysts have claimed the creature in the video is nothing more than a swimming deer.

According to the eye witness who shot the video, “I shot this video of something in the lake at Oakledge Park on Sunday (05/31/09) early am (0530 or so). I don’t know what the eff it is but its definitely not normal.” Oakledge Park is situated in Vermont.
Lake Champlain is situated right on the United States border with Canada, it’s a freshwater lake which has a coastline along Vermont and New York states in the US and also in Quebec, Canada. The lake is said to be home to Champ, a lake monster similar to the more famous Loch Ness Monster. The legend of the monster dates back hundreds of years and began in Native American folklore, but there have been over 300 reported sightings of the cryptic creature including several photographs and now this video.
Collapsemag will leave it our readers to decide if Champ is real or imaginary and if the video is authentic, or a hoax…
