Music Radar, a British music site, has named Jimi Hendrix’s ‘Voodoo Child’ as the Greatest Guitar Riff of All Time, followed by ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ by Guns N’ Roses.
Jimi Hendrix first recorded ‘Voodoo Child’ (Slight Return) 41 years ago, and he remains the undisputed heavyweight champion of rock guitar, as reported by the BBC. The song was first released in 1968 on the album ‘Electric LadyLand,’ which was the third and final album recorded by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. It was then re-released as a single following the Seattle-born rocker’s death in 1970.
‘Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin, ‘Smoke on the Water’ by Deep Purple and ‘Layla’ by Derek and the Dominos were respectively named third, fourth and fifth by the Web site.
